Most training starts with commands. But that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Whether your dog reliably performs a “wait” or “come” is decided beneath the surface: in his emotions, his character, your communication, and your leadership.
That’s why I don’t work on the symptom, but on the cause. This is how changes come about that last.

Character-based training
Regardless of breed or size, I distinguish between two basic types. Most dogs fall somewhere in between. Once you know the type, you can lead your dog with its nature instead of against it.
Leader type · confident, thoughtful, independent
Thinks before acting. Cooperates when it makes sense to them. Seeks harmony, not dominance.
Working type · cooperative, sensitive, quick to learn
Wants to please and to work. Needs clear leadership and boundaries so they don’t tip into insecurity or overexcitement.
